GI Cancer Trials is pleased to offer the following awards and grants to recognise the valuable contribution of members to GI cancer research.
All awards will be announced at the ASM.

2025 recipient: Professor Tim Price
John Zalcberg AO Award for Excellence in GI Cancer Research
This award recognises a member who has made a significant and outstanding leadership contribution to GI cancer research over a sustained period.

2025 recipient: Chia Chia Tan from Fiona Stanley Hospital
Christine Aiken Memorial Award for Excellence in Study Coordination
This award is presented annually to recognise a significant and outstanding contribution by a study coordinator of our trials.

2025 recipient: Dr Cassandra White
Early Career Researcher Award for Excellence in GI Cancer Research
The purpose of this award is to foster career development and recognise an outstanding early-career clinician-researcher or translational scientist in the area of GI cancer.

2025 Metropolitan recipient: Austin Health Cancer Clinical Trials GI Team
Excellence in Site Performance Awards
We recognise clinical trial sites that have shown exceptional enthusiasm, performance and dedication to conducting GI Cancer Trials studies. There are two categories:

2025 winner: Presenter Dr John Mak
Best New Concept Award
This award will be given to the presentation that receives the most votes for the Best New Concept at the New Concepts Symposium.

2025 winner: Presenter Professor Tim Price
Best of Oral Abstracts Award
The ASM Executive Committee will select a number of abstracts for oral presentation, with the opportunity to win the Best Oral Abstract Award.

One of the 2025 recipients: Catherine Trevaskis
Member Fundraiser of the Year Award
This award is presented at the ASM in recognition of outstanding contributions to fundraising for GI cancer research.

Travel grants are available to members of GI Cancer Trials who have limited access to financial support to attend the ASM.
