Since 1991, GI Cancer Trials has been the only research organisation in the Australasian region with a focus on all gastro-intestinal (GI) cancers. Our dedicated group of research and health professionals translate bold new ideas into life-saving clinical trials that help those patients as quickly as possible. As a group we have run more than 80 studies, involving over 9,400 participants treated at 119 sites in Australia, 8 sites in Aotearoa New Zealand and 158 sites located across Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East.
The ASM attracts Australasia’s leaders in the field of GI cancer research and treatment and is a major highlight of the year for our multidisciplinary membership.
On average over the past 10 years, almost 400 delegates attend the ASM, with a record 550 at our first post-COVID ASM in 2022. The Meeting serves as a forum for the presentation of state-of-the art overviews on the pathobiological and clinical aspects of GI cancer, and also affords the opportunity for the Australasian scientific community to explore future directions for research and collaboration with input from international experts.
