This year’s GI Cancer Trials ASM will be held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart, a premier venue in the heart of Hobart’s vibrant city centre. With modern conference facilities, comfortable accommodation, and easy access to the city’s attractions, it provides the perfect base for our attendees.
The hotel offers convenient access to:
- Salamanca Market and the waterfront, perfect for a stroll or casual dining
- Hobart Airport, just a short drive away
- Local public transport, taxis, and rideshare services for hassle-free commuting
- On-site undercover parking and nearby parking options for those self-driving
- A wide range of accommodation options for ASM attendees staying off-site

Airport transfers
The Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart is highly accessible.
- Taxis take 14 minutes and cost $40–$50 from the airport
- SkyBus offers direct, affordable airport transfers
- Public transport uses the Metro Greencard or single tickets
- There are also several rental car agencies and ride-share services available at the airport
*Coach transfers will be arranged for ASM attendees from the meeting venue to the airport on the final day of the ASM.

Climate in November
November in Nipaluna / Hobart offers mild spring weather, with fresh mornings and pleasantly warm days. Temperatures typically range from 14°C to low 20°C, making it ideal for sightseeing, walking and outdoor activities. Be prepared for sudden changes in the weather, especially if bushwalking in parks and reserves. Always carry extra warm clothing, including a waterproof outer layer.
